GVSU Mac Labs
GVSU has Mac Labs at these locations:
- CIS EOS Lab (A1-105 MAK)
- 211 DEV
- 505 DCIH
Note: The Mac Minis in the CIS EOS Lab are setup in August 2024. The GVSU IT team will continue to improve the configuration of these Mac Minis. When working on the Macs, it is highly recommended that you save your work either:
- On your School Google Drive (using your xxxxxx@mail.gvsu.edu account)
- On the GVSU DFS (if you plan to access your work via the Virtual Mac Labs)
Virtual Mac Labs
In addition, Virtual/Remote Access to MacLabs are also available (using any computer) via https://maclab.gvsu.edu. You can login to these machines with your GVSU credentials via your browser, and Xcode and related tools are fully configured. Note that to access the GVSU MacLab machines from a non-GVSU network, you must use the GVSU VPN as well as Duo for MFA. Here are instructions to access the GVSU MacLab machines, based on what kind of computer you are using:
- Windows Instructions (requires VNC Viewer for remote connection)
- Mac: Instruction (requires Screen Sharing app for remote connection)
Once authenticated, look for your network drive (under the "DFS" folder) and save all your work there. This remote folder is also accessible on any GVSU Windows Labs (as your private N: drive) as well as online via https://mystudentdata.gvsu.edu.
WARNING
Do not save your work under the "local" Mac Documents
/ Desktop
folders. Files saved under these folders will not be accessible/visible under https://mystudentdata.gvsu.edu
